This kit offers higher levels of rotor sound (whine) within the cabin due to the direct path through the firewall.
This Kit requires that the firewall is drilled.

Fold the carpet down in the driver side footwell behind the brake pedal to the left of the steering column & secure by inserting a small screw as shown in the image through the carpet.
Pull the retaining clip off the carpet stud to enable the cutting of the insulation.
Cut the insulation along the horizontal line with supplied blade.

Use a center punch to mark the drilling point for the 1 3/8” hole. Draw a line across from the steering column bracket point. Draw a second vertical line approximately ¼” from the raised sheet metal contour as shown the image.
To determine the exact point, you will be able to feel (using your fingers) and see the seam.
After using the center punch to mark the drill entry point, drill using the supplied step drill bit at low speed and using a light oil for lubrication to avoid (overheating) and damage to the drill bit.
Make sure the drill hole saw is flush with the fire wall sheet metal as not to catch and edge and damage drill bit.
Drill all the way through with the step drill bit.
Install the supplied large rubber grommet working into the 1 3/8” hole which was cut in the firewall. Use some grease on the bare metal edges for protection. Add some grease to the grooves of the grommet to prevent corrosion.
Image (Right) shows grommet installed in the drilled firewall.
Drilling the inlet pipe on the bottom of the inlet with supplied drill bit. See picture below arrow points to location. Inlet pipe should be removed and filter and MAF removed before drilling pipe as not to get any fillings in the inlet path or MAF.
MAF can also be wrapped inside with tin foil and left in place for drilling if needed. Air filter must be removed first and is accessed for removal from the drivers wheel well.
Remove push pins in the front of the wheel well liner to get access to the filter for removal. Once drilled clean the edges with a razor or sand paper then install the smaller of the 2 grommets into the hole. Clean pipe as needed after.
With small grommet installed and fully seated into the hole push 1” hose barb elbow SHORT end through the grommet from until seated. Use supplied grease on the fitting and grommet to ease in install.
With supplied grease push the end of the sound tube on and fully seat to the hose barb.
Install the sound tube through the firewall hole with wide groove grommet in place. It may be difficult to reach the firewall from engine side with the KB unit installed if so use a coat hanger our wire and string to pull the sound tube through the hole. Ask me for video if needed.
Use supplied grease inside the grommet and on the tube hose barb end which will aid in pushing/pulling the sound tube hose end through the grommet in the firewall.
